Fresh Meat Recruitment Closes at the End of July!

Have you always wanted to skate derby? We would love to have you! But, for the safety of our new trainees (aka Fresh Meat), we need to do a bit of population control. We’ve realized that we can do better training and have more fun if we bring in new skaters as a group, and help them build the skills they need together. For that reason, we will be accepting new skaters at Fresh Meat practice until the end of July, and then closing recruitment for a couple months.

What does this mean? If you’re desperate to be a Dame, show up at Fresh Meat practice at the Charlottesville Armory at 7pm on either Wednesday July 21st or 28th. If you can’t make it then, you’ll have another shot to come out and join us in a few months. Just keep watching this site for updates. And… if you’re just dying to get on skates, remember that you can skate at Carver Rec center or at the rink in Staunton in the meantime. Questions? Mid-Summer Melt Down

Come down to Richmond on July 24th and see the Derby Dames take on the River City Roller’s Uncivil Warriors, AND RCR’s Poe’s Punishers take on The Long Island Roller Rebels from Long Island NY.

Doors open at 5:30pm, Bout starts at 6pm.
Ticket price: $12
Seniors and students are $10.00
Kids 12-6 are $6, and under 6 are free

A limited quantity of tickets can also be purchased the day of the bout at the Convention Center Box office. The box office only takes cash, but there is an ATM beside it for your convenience. If you don’t get tickets in advance, come early to make sure we don’t sell out!

The After party will be at Cous Cous, featuring the lovely ladies of Cherry Bomb- spinning all your favorite dance songs from then and now.

There are so many people that the Dames want to thank for their help making Daylight Slayings a huge success. If we miss you, it’s not because we don’t appreciate you, because we are truly thankful for everyone who helped us get to this point!
