Are there any Freshies (or non-freshies) that want to practice skating? I am seriously a hot mess on quads these days. I live by Skatetown in Staunton. I could also come out to C'ville.

Don't forget the free skate sessions at the Key center in downtown on Saturdays 1-3 and Sundays 1-6. There are a few of us who normally are out on Sundays after 3.

Thanks for telling me about the open skate yesterday at practice. I have been wanting to practice other days besides fresh meat Wednesdays and I totally did not want to be the lone old person at skatetown.

Considering the practices seem to be centered more on bouting skills and not leveling skills it appears it's up to us to practice if we want to level up, which I am all for. Though hopefully now that open enrollment is now closed we'll get some more of those skills worked on. I want to test for level 1 by mid February!

Christie, Rex and I live in Afton, so we may be up for a little field trip to Skatetown. Also, down the road from us is the Rockfish Valley Community Center, where I have a studio. We can meet up there to practice also (it's an old school with a wood gymnasium floor). They have some things scheduled, such as yoga and Tae Kwon Do some evenings, but we may be able to figure out a time that works. Let me know! You can email me off the forum at susancpv1@mac.com.

I'd like to hear about any times at RVCC too. It's way closer than C'ville and cheaper than Skatetown.
